A-Morir, the hand embellished eyewear line created by designer Kerin Rose Weinberg, has become a much publicized favorite among fashion’s biggest trendsetters. Drawing inspiration from her time spent studying classical music as a child combined with her lifelong love of rock and roll she sets herself apart with her rebellious designs executed with an impeccably refined craftsmanship.
Founded in the fall of 2008 A-Morir began with a capsule collection of four classic frames, named after her favorite classical composers, all hand encrusted in Swarovski Elements. She has since gone on to continually challenge convention and reappropriation of materials creating collection after collection of truly unique pieces with a universal appeal. Each item is hand made with premium materials and always has the discerning tastemaker in mind. Meticulous creation adorned in Swarovski crystals, spikes, chains, lace, studs or pearls reflects Kerin’s love of the theatrical, the luxurious, and most importantly, the glam.
A-Morir has been commissioned and loved most notably by Rihanna, Lady GaGa, Beyonce’, Katy Perry, Grace Jones, Debbie Harry, Nicki Minaj, Will.I.Am, Snoop Dogg, Fergie, Estelle, Solange, Cassie, Adam Lambert, Johnny Weir, Tyra Banks, Ke$ha, Courtney Love, Mariah Carey, Keri Hilson, Jazmine Sullivan, and Kid Sister. A-morir has also become a favorite of Doda, Lee Hyori and Big Bang, #1 Pop Stars in Poland and Korea. Kerin has also been commissioned to create concert and video looks for the Black Eyed Peas, Rihanna, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga, for whom she created her now iconic insect and pearl covered teacup.
A-Morir has gone from being loved by the biggest names in pop to the biggest names in fashion. A-Morir’s Spring/Summer 12 collection was recognized as a ‘New Talent’ by Vogue Italia and honored in their SS2012 showcase. Nina Garcia and Anna Dello Russo have both been spotted in A-Morir, pieces have been worn by fashion supserstars Karlie Kloss, Carmen Cass, Crystal Renn, and Andre Pejic and have photographed in countless Vogue editorials by Mario Testino, Steven Meisel, Hedi Slimane and Ellen Von Unwerth . And under the direction of Nicola Formichetti she created masks for a cover of Vogue Hommes Japan, shot by Steven Klein, and created custom accessories for the Mugler Mens SS12 video and runway show.
The SS12 season was inspired by music from the 1920s, the 1970s, and the 1990s. Drawing inspiration from the beautiful folk music of The Mamas and The Papas the floral Phillips and Cass frames were named after the two female singers in the group; a nod to both their fashion and their stature.
A-Morir has been credited in multiple editorials in print and online for Vogue Italia, Vogue Japan, Vogue China, Vogue Russia, Vogue Latin America, Vogue UK, Vogue Homme Japan, L’Uomo Vogue, Zink, Wad, L’Officiel, and in both national and international versions of Glamour, In Style, Nylon, GQ, People and Elle.
